Justice of the Peace Wedding Alternative in Indianapolis

Searching for a Justice of the Peace wedding in Indianapolis? Many couples use that phrase when they need someone who can legally marry them or sign their marriage license

IMPORTANT: Most courthouse or government buildings, including Marion County, only issue marriage licenses. They do not perform the ceremony or sign the license to make your marriage legal.

We offer an in-house wedding officiant for marriage license signings, elopements, and chapel ceremonies held at our Indianapolis chapel.

If you already have your Indiana marriage license, we can help you complete the next step in a simple, legal, and stress-free way.

  • Someone who can legally marry them

  • A simple civil ceremony

  • A quick marriage license signing

  • A courthouse-style alternative

  • A private appointment

  • A low-stress way to get married

  • Help understanding what to do after getting the marriage license

In Indiana, You Usually Need an Officiant — Not a Justice of the Peace

The phrase “Justice of the Peace” is commonly used by couples who are looking for someone to legally marry them. In Indiana, most couples complete the process by applying for a marriage license first, then having an authorized officiant perform the ceremony or complete the legal signing.

That is where Diamond Wedding Chapel can help. Our in-house wedding officiant can sign your Indiana marriage license during a simple signing appointment or after your chapel ceremony.

Why Couples Choose a Chapel Instead

Couples choose Diamond Wedding Chapel because they want something simple, legal, and affordable, but still meaningful.

This is a great option if you want:

  • A private appointment

  • A simple legal signing

  • A short civil ceremony

  • A decorated chapel instead of a courthouse setting

  • A place to exchange vows and rings

  • A few guests present

  • An affordable option without planning a full wedding

  • Help understanding the next step after getting your marriage license

FAQ Section

How Do I Get Married in Indiana?

To get legally married in Indiana, you must first apply for a marriage license through the county clerk’s office. If you are applying in Marion County, you can start here: Marion County Marriage License Application Process.

After you complete the application, both people must appear at the clerk’s office to finish the process and receive the marriage license. Once you have your license, bring it with you to Diamond Wedding Chapel. Our in-house wedding officiant can perform your ceremony and sign the license after your wedding.

We are by appointment only, so you must reserve your date with a payment. Starting with Diamond Wedding Chapel order form.
